On May 3, the Lansing School District will ask voters to approve a $120 million bond proposal in support of the Lansing Pathway Promise, an innovative approach to educational excellence that will prepare our kids for college and 21st century careers.

There are many great reasons you should support it:

  • Children  â€“ Lansing School District children deserve the educational equipment and facilities to give them every opportunity for success in life. The Lansing Pathway Promise bond will finance building improvements, technology, furniture and equipment at schools throughout the district that will help our children thrive in a competitive world.

  • Low cost for homeowners â€“ The bond will cost the average homeowner the price of a gallon of milk per month – or about 10 cents per day! Aren’t our children worth that? Also of note, the bond will "step in the place" of an expiring one, so it's a great time to invest in our schools. Lansing already has the lowest school millage rate in the Capital region, and it will remain low even when approve.

  • Property values â€“ Good schools increase property values, so a YES vote can actually increase the value of your home over time.

  • A better city for us all â€“ Good schools are a major factor in attracting and retaining businesses and people. The future of the city is closely linked to the success of our schools.

Please join us May 3rd in ensuring a brighter, stronger future for our children and our city. See below for details on what you’ll get for your money.

The last day to register for the May 3, 2016 election will be Monday, April 4.
